Vice President of Project Management and Sales Support
Location: Westfield, IN or Kansas City, MO
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, this position will oversee the activities of & provide leadership for the Project Management & Project Coordination team that provides sales support as well as the Industrial Design Group (formerly CAD group) in all markets, offices, and teams.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborating with Sales Leadership in managing productivity of each individual member of the project management & sales support team
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive departmental budgets, consistency in compensation structure and project documentation for individual support roles
- Developing standardized project documentation and enforcing accountability within individual teams to those standards
- Developing and managing best-in-class processes and workflow of Project Managers and Sales Coordinators
- Providing and reporting status of estimating, project management, and project coordination activities
- Developing programs for continued professional development of department employees and conduct regular performance reviews
- Maintaining appropriate staffing levels within all teams as well as company wide support resources
- Allocating company wide support resources to sales teams as needed
- Developing and executing a comprehensive best-in-class Vendor Management and Partnership strategic priority
- Managing project management & sales support team proficiency and training
- Allocation and appropriation of in-house installation resources to specific projects based on company strategy in collaboration with sales team leadership
- All activities relating to third party installation companies that SSI utilizes as sub-contractors
- Refining annual KPI’s for both Project Managers and Sales Coordinators based on company and team goals
- Developing and improving a pre-proposal assessment and plan for more complex projects
- Developing and improving a post-installation follow up plan for more complex projects
- Sharing project results and best practices within the team and company
- Developing a risk management process for Sales teams to minimize project risks
- Resolving customer related issues that escalate as necessary
- Coaching the Project Management team on best ways to interact with sales team members & customers to evaluate customer needs, design and present the best solution to the customer
- Accompanying sales team members to visit customer sites and interface with appropriate customer contacts as required
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineering and Strategic Sales, Industrial Design departments to ensure alignment of processes
- Report to executives to provide updates and recommendations to further enhance the customer experience

- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
- Ability to work through project issues with customers in a timely manner
- Technically competent and proficient with various software programs: Excel, Word, Outlook, AutoCAD, SmartSheet, SalesForce
- Strong written and oral communication skills: In person meetings, email, phone calls
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Strong technical aptitude – highly knowledgeable of industry systems including complex integrated systems and components
- BA/BS or equivalent experience

WORK CONDITIONS
- Office & field oriented position with some overnight travel to project sites required
- Overtime will be required when needed
