Minimize Floorspace, Maximize Vertical Storage

What Are Vertical Lift Modules?

Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs), a “goods-to-person” picking solution, allow users to pick orders very efficiently while optimizing space utilization within a facility. Its internal software allows this seemingly complex machine to be one of the most user-friendly tools in your warehouse. VLMs are capable of delivering one or two trays at a time to the picking area and are often used to store and pick smaller, cube-shaped, slower-moving items.

VLMs are also great with space utilization, condensing 5,000 square feet to about 150 square feet for the machine, a 90% decrease in your footprint. They can also utilize either inside picking, where the trays stay entirely inside the device, or outside picking, where the actual picking bay comes out 3 to 4 feet. VLMs offer user-friendly interfaces for many functions, making them the perfect customizable addition to your facility.

VLM Benefits & Applications

Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs) are designed to maximize vertical space, allowing you to store more items in a smaller area. This helps optimize your current storage capacity.

VLMs are also beneficial for order picking as they provide an efficient and ergonomic solution. Automated retrieval systems bring items directly to the operator, eliminating the need for excessive bending, reaching, or walking. Reducing fatigue and risk of injury among warehouse staff.

Storage Optimization

VLMs are designed to fully utilize vertical space, allowing warehouses to store more items within a smaller footprint. By leveraging the full height of the facility, businesses can significantly increase their storage capacity and reduce the need for additional warehouse space.

Efficient Order Picking & Replenishment

VLMs are particularly effective for order picking operations. With their automated retrieval system, VLMs bring the required items directly to the operator, minimizing the time and effort needed for manual searching. This enhances order accuracy, speeds up fulfillment processes, and boosts overall productivity.

Modular & Scalable

VLMs are designed with a modular structure, allowing for easy customization and scalability. Businesses can add or remove modules as their storage needs evolve, including a variety of unique part sizes and weights, ensuring the system can adapt to changing demands.
