3PL in Need of Updated Conveyor Equipment and Optimized Design

The Situation

A long-time customer of ours came to Storage Solutions with the need to update over twenty-year-old conveyor equipment, as well as evaluate the layout within their existing facility. It was critical to our customer that we maximize the footprint of their smaller warehouse to allow it to meet their needs for years to come.

Where Storage Solutions Came In

From the start, we engaged our experienced engineers to redesign and optimize their existing workflow while integrating new equipment to streamline specific processes. This well-thought-out design allowed the following installation sequences to move along with minimal obstacles and downtime for our customer’s operation.

Our in-house installation team completed this installation from start to finish in just eight weeks, which included the entirety of the mechanical and controls aspects of the project. Our ability to quickly deploy the proper number of resources to set the project in motion and overcome any project hurdles as they arose was an essential part of giving our customer the best solution possible.

The Results

Upon completing the project, our customer’s system allowed them to move products from a freezer compartment to a loaded trailer with minimal human contact through strategically designed conveyor runs. Other automation technologies were integrated throughout the system to increase throughput, address labor challenges, and future-proof aspects of the system.
