Per your request, dear readers, we’re back with the second “Where Are We Now?” post, which focuses on our most recent list of installations, both near and far that our crews are working on these days.  As we have mentioned before, it’s pretty easy for people to assume that we are a company that only sticks to local jobs.  But just because we’re located in central Indiana doesn’t mean we don’t love the east coast, the Great Plains or California any less!  As a company, we have always taken pride in the fact that our skilled installation crews are constantly going the distance, both literally and figuratively to give our customers the absolute best in material handling and installations.

Storage Solutions Project Ohio Week 2

Project Ohio By The Numbers:

Project Ohio Term Of The Week: Mezzanines

Mezzanine is a structure that stands alone and is constructed within an existing building. This structure is designed to maximize space under and above it which creates additional space for storage or offices. You’ll notice in the photos that these structures are optimal for high-density storage and can withstand heavy loads.  They’re great for creating additional floorspace and are engineered to fulfill specific needs of each user.

Stay tuned next week to check out the project specifics and see photos of how things are progressing.  Click here to view last week’s Project Spotlight: OHIO posting and to view past Project Spotlight postings as well.

TOTW Pushbackpush back pallet rack system allows palletized goods and materials to be stored by being pushed up a gently graded ramp. Stored materials are allowed to flow down the ramp to the aisle.

This rack configuration allows for deep storage at each rack level and last-in, first-out storage. All of the loads are stored and retrieved from the aisle. When a new load is deposited into a lane, it pushes back the one already at the front and all those behind it. Then, when that load is picked, the contents of the lane all move forward again, hence the term “push back rack.”

Why use a push back pallet rack system?

  • The nested carts make placement and retrieval easy
  • It saves storage space which leads to less cost
  • They offer the same storage density as and drive-in/drive-through racks

If you are looking to utilize space in your warehouse make sure to get some information on the push back pallet rack system. Storage Solutions would love to help you create the perfect warehouse for your company.

Storage Solutions Pallet RackPallet rack is a structural storage system that is used to support high stacking of items or palletized loads. This storage systems is designed to store materials on pallets.

There are many types of pallet racking but all types allow for the storage of palletized materials. In order to use the pallet rack system you need to have access to forklift trucks so that you can place the loaded pallets onto the racks for storage. Pallet racks are an essential element in most modern warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail centers, and other storage and distribution facilities.

Storage Solutions uses many types of pallet racking in their own warehouse. We also sell new and used pallet rack beams and used pallet rack uprights.

If you are in need of pallet racking make sure to check out the clearance section of our website for more product availability!

This Week’s Term Of The Week:

Storage Solutions Dock LevelerDock Leveler

This is a manually, hydraulically, or electrically operated plate that is located at the dock entrance. This leveler can be raised and lowered to accommodate varying trailer floor heights. These are important because they enhance safety and productivity on the dock through design features.

Some examples of dock levels are: standard pull-chain mechanical dock leveler, hydraulic dock leveler and a dock leveler with a safety barrier. Here at Storage-Solutions we use these on our own docks for safety and convenience.

Now that summer is here, it’s important to make sure your warehouse is up to date with proper safety standards.  Check out our safety and protection equipment to complete your operation!
