Nathan Storey to Transition to President and CEO, Kevin Rowles to Move into a Role as an Advising Member of the Storage Solutions Board of Directors

Storage Solutions Inc. (SSI) announces that current President, Nathan Storey, will move into a dual President/CEO role, with Kevin Rowles transitioning into an advising member of the Storage Solutions Board of Directors.

Rowles has been with Storage Solutions for 28 years and has served as President since 1995. He assumed the CEO role from Founder Craig McElheny in November 2020 when the company began partnering with private equity firms Merit Capital Group and MFG Partners. In early 2022, Rowles transitioned to focus on the CEO responsibilities solely, and Storey took over the role as President of Storage Solutions.

As Rowles reflected on what factors have made Storage Solutions great for so many years and how to stay on our current trajectory, he shared, “Commit to a continuous improvement mindset, have a great work ethic, take care of the customer, and take care of your fellow SSI family.”

Storey has been with Storage Solutions since 2006, serving as an Account Manager, Project Manager, Operations Manager, Vice President of Operations, Chief Operations Officer, and President. With Rowles stepping into a role as an advising member of the Storage Solutions Board of Directors, Storey will now operate in a dual role as both President and CEO of Storage Solutions.

In his first company address as CEO and President, Storey gave a call to action. “As we march towards our vision, we should focus our lenses through our company’s core values. Each and every day is an opportunity to get better, and we get to do it with some awesome people.”

Founded in 1978 as Penco Products of Indiana, Storage Solutions has grown to be a leader in integrating material handling and automation solutions for warehouses, distribution centers, and fulfillment centers. Since being named President of SSI in 1995, Rowles has overseen the company’s headquarters relocations to Westfield in 1998 and again in 2008, the opening of its Kansas City office in 2002, its transition to becoming an ESOP in 2013, and its acquisition in 2020. More recently, Storage Solutions acquired SNC Solutions and EMIT, Inc. in 2022 and was acquired by Jungheinrich AG in early 2023.

Celebrating 45 Years of Excellence

Over the past 45 years, Storage Solutions has demonstrated the ability to adapt, evolve, and expand to meet our valued customers’ dynamic needs. As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the journey that has brought us to where we are today and eagerly anticipate the path ahead.

From our humble beginnings in a small office in Carmel, Indiana, we have grown substantially, operating in our 330,000-square-foot facility in Westfield, IN. We have strategically established sales offices in key locations such as Missouri, Tennessee, Arizona, Florida, and California to extend our reach further.

Recently, we embarked on transformative ventures, including the strategic acquisitions of SNC Solutions and EMIT, Inc. These partnerships have significantly bolstered the size, breadth, and expertise of our team and comprehensive suite of warehouse solutions.

In March of 2023, we announced that renowned German intralogistics pioneer Jungheinrich AG successfully acquired Storage Solutions. This marked an exciting new chapter for Storage Solutions, positioning us as a robust growth platform for racking and warehouse automation in the United States.

In this milestone year, we sincerely thank our invaluable partners, dedicated employees, and loyal customers. Without their unwavering support, our achievements would not have been possible.

As Our Celebration Closes, Our Family Grows!

For the past month, we have talked about our 40th-anniversary celebration in bulk. We mentioned where we have been, where we are now, and where we want to go in the future. As our celebrating comes to a close, we are excited to announce that three of our employees each added one more to the Storage Solutions family.

Congratulations to Heather Hutton, Brandon Pollom, and John Pennington, as well as their own families, on their latest additions!

Heather Hutton and her family welcomed their third child with their newest son, Boston, who was born in the waning hours of June 5th.

Next, we have a couple new fathers in Brandon Pollom and John Pennington. Brandon and his wife welcomed Cecilia on the afternoon of July 10th, making her the second SSI baby this summer.

And finally, John Pennington and his wife welcomed Will into the world just a couple days later on July 12th.

While we praise our employees for their work accomplishments, we are just as happy to celebrate their personal milestones as well. Congratulations to all of you, we couldn’t be more excited!

Celebrating 40 Years of SSI All Month Long

After 40 years of service to the material handling industry, Storage Solutions is excited to be celebrating our 40th anniversary with you!

Without you, there is no us. We are happy to have partnered with you throughout the years on many projects within the United States and abroad. We have done installation jobs in facilities right in our backyard in Indianapolis, all the way to “Down Under” in Australia. We aim to give you the service that you expect from a small business, while still providing you with the resources of a nationwide company.

Over the years, we started in a small office in Carmel, Indiana. Since then, we have grown to a 330,000 square foot facility in Westfield, IN, along with sales offices in Kansas City, Nashville, Phoenix, Florida and California. We started with only a handful of employees, and we are excited to have eclipsed the 100 employee mark in 2001.

While celebrating this month, we recognize where we have been as a company, where we are now, and where we want to be in the future. We continually strive to be the leaders in the material handling industry, and we appreciate having our employees, our customers, and our partners with us every step of the way.
