Successful MODEX 2022

MODEX 2022 was a huge success, and a good portion of the Storage Solutions team was on the scene to connect, learn, and meet over 850 vendors, partners, and clients. Hosted by Material Handling Industry (MHI), the event saw several thousand attendees over the four days and over 170 on-floor seminars, networking events, and the opportunity to learn about the industry’s latest innovations and technologies.

We took a few clips of some of the solutions that were on hand and put them together in a brief video here so you can get a small taste of what was offered at the event:

Our team loved introducing our current clients to many of these new technologies and learning about new solutions that could potentially take our clients’ storage and fulfillment efforts to the next level.

Fetch Robotics Webinar CartConnect

We would love for you to join us next Tuesday, August 27th for our latest Fetch Robotics webinar on CartConnect. This dynamic solution can speed up your facility, therefore, increasing ROI in the long-run.

Many leaders in the manufacturing and supply chain industry agree that robotics and automation are the most effective ways to stay competitive in a dynamic marketplace. However, not all automation mediums are created equal. This technology can transform the way you go about your material handling solutions and can double productivity within your facility.

This new technology is called CartConnect. CartConnect is an autonomous material handling solution that picks up, transports, and drops off warehouse carts to any location, within any warehouse, factory, or distribution center. During the webinar, we will show how CartConnect can be used for multiple picking strategies and other applications such as put away, replenishment & retail stocking. In short, this Fetch AMR solution can give you a competitive edge in your operation.

Want to learn more? Join us on Tuesday, August 27th at 2:00 PM EST to learn how to launch your facility into the future.

SSI Family Night 2019

Storage Solutions celebrates family night at the Indianapolis Indians game! This was our 8th annual company outing. Every year Storage Solutions holds a company-wide outing and this year families were invited.

Founded in 1902, the Indians are Indianapolis’ professional Minor League Baseball team. Tuesday night, we all headed over to Victory Field to watch the Indians take on the Syracuse Mets. Furthermore, this was a great opportunity for everyone to meet and mingle with each other’s family members.

Though it was a bit rainy throughout the night, our team was able to relax with their family and friends with some peanuts and crackerjacks. Here at Storage Solutions, we value teamwork, competitiveness, and camaraderie, all of which we saw on and off the field.

This year’s event was a homerun! Even though the Indians lost, we enjoyed seeing Tim Tebow at bat for the Mets.

We are looking forward to our next company-wide outing next year!

4th of July

This 4th of July marks America’s 242nd year as an independent and free country, which calls for a nation-wide day of celebration.

Whether you attend a parade, watch fireworks, or host a cookout, there are so many ways to celebrate our freedom! In the midst of all the celebration, it is important to remember what Independence Day truly signifies. The 4th of July commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States. Our country, that began as only 13 colonies, has grown considerably since then. We are so thankful for all the men and women in the past, present, and future who fought and will continue to fight for our freedom and independence.

In honor of the holiday, Storage Solutions will be closed Thursday, July 4th. Normal business hours will then resume on Friday, July 5th. While we are gone, feel free to take a look at our Strategic Optimization Solutions. We will be sure to answer any and all questions upon our return! For those of you celebrating the holiday, we wish you a relaxing, and enjoyable 4th of July!

Global Cold Chain Expo 2019

That’s a wrap on Global Cold Chain Expo 2019! This concludes our third show in the Windy City. We were excited to meet with everyone to discuss needs and learn more about the cold storage industry.

What is the Global Cold Chain Expo?

The Global Cold Chain Expo is one of the largest gatherings of leaders in the foodservice and cold chain industry. With so many industry leaders there, we are ecstatic to be able to share ideas and collaborate with so many different people.

Greg Michel, one of our National Accounts Managers, attended his first show this year and shared his thoughts.

“GCCE was a great opportunity to help grow brand awareness for Storage Solutions, Inc. The show brought in a captive audience from around the country, which allowed us to connect with future customers and share what Storage Solutions, Inc is all about. Overall, I believe it was a great event and I look forward to future GCCA events. ”

We met some great people, and are glad that we could be a part of this great show! Missed us at GCCE but want to see us at another show? Click here to view the full list of trade shows we’ll be attending!

Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, we are reminded of the numerous sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes. Memorial Day is always observed on the last Monday of May. The holiday originated in 1868 and was formerly known as Decoration Day. It wasn’t until 1971 that it received its name change and was officially recognized as a federal holiday. Memorial Day stands as a day of remembrance for all those who have lost their lives serving in our nation’s armed forces.

For many, this three-day weekend is considered the unofficial start of Summer. Memorial Day in Indiana is often celebrated through barbecues, outdoor games and the Indianapolis 500. You can find most Hoosiers spending time with family and friends, surrounded by good food and a weekend full of relaxation.

Memorial Day Weekend Office Hours

In honor of the holiday, Storage Solutions will be closed Monday, May 27th. Normal business hours will then resume on Tuesday, May 28th. For those of you celebrating the holiday, we wish you a relaxing, and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!

2019 IFDA

As October comes to a close so does the annual IFDA (International Foodservice Distributors Association) Conference. This past week, we have been in San Antonio networking with folks in the foodservice industry in order to help them find ways to optimize their operation.

Truck Driver Appreciation Week

Truck drivers play a key role in the logistics side of our business. Without them, we would have no way to get shipments from Point A to Point B. Because of this, we were more than ecstatic to celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week from September 9th through the 15th.

Logistics is an integral part of the material handling industry, nobody knows that better than our Logistics Manager, Brenda Dudley.

“For material handling and specifically what we do at Storage Solutions, service needs are indicative of “just in time” performance. With build schedules, crews on site and customer timelines, we can’t deliver too early or too late but within a window delivery plan. We depend and rely on the abilities of the drivers to honor our own commitments to our customers. Let’s not forget that drivers on-site at a customer’s facility are an extension of who and what we are as a company. They represent us while handling our shipments and can make or break customer relationships. It’s easy to overlook the hard work and effort most drivers put forth and we tend to think that they need business to keep the wheels turning, when in fact, we need them just as much.”

We send and receive around fifteen shipments every day, going to and coming from all over the continental United States. These drivers put in long, grueling hours every day to ensure shipments arrive on time. That often means time away from family and friends, along with the comfort of home.

This is why we dedicate this week to them. So if you see any truck drivers, be sure to thank them for their hard work! It certainly doesn’t go unnoticed here at Storage Solutions.
