Automation Project Manager

Location: Westfield, IN/Kansas City, MO/Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting to the Director of Project Management, this position will be an integral part of the project execution process, working directly with our internal team and customer executing projects that have been awarded. Regular communication & accountability with all internal & external project stakeholders using industry best practices for project management/site management is the primary expectation. Additional duties include supporting sales efforts with project scheduling knowledge and tools and industry knowledge to assist the company in securing customer projects.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress of each awarded project
- Oversee the individual projects as directed, ensuring that all assigned projects are executed on time, within scope and budget
- Act as the liason between the customer and the Account Manager during the execution of awarded projects
- Stay up to date on all products/systems/offerings within the industry
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of projects
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs
- Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Adhere to company project management processes including developing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
- Analyze and review the project after completion to identify improvement opportunities
- Assist in researching and preparing complex automation and design proposals to provide to prospects and existing accounts
- Collaborate with Account Managers to evaluate customer needs, define project requirements, design, and present the best solution to the customer
- Share project results and best practices within the team and company
- Participate in internal projects as required
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Highly detail oriented, ability to manage to critical deadlines
- Ability to multitask effectively & prioritize & execute tasks
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
- Ability to work through project issues with customers in a timely manner
- Technically competent and proficient with various software programs: Excel, Word, Outlook, AutoCAD, SmartSheet, Salesforce
- Strong written and oral communication skills: In person meetings, email, phone calls
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Strong technical aptitude – highly knowledgeable of supply chain industry systems including complex integrated systems and components
- BA/BS or equivalent experience
PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES
- Office & field-oriented position with overnight travel to project sites required
