Drive-in rack is a type of pallet rack that is used for dense storage applications where there is a need to get a lot of product in a relatively small footprint. Drive-in rack is only accessed from 1 side of the rack system & the forklifts actually enter the rack to place pallets at deeper locations within the system.
Drive-thru rack is also a type of pallet rack used for dense storage applications (like Drive-In). Drive-thru rack differs from drive-in rack because it can be accessed from both sides of the rack system. The forklifts still enter the rack to place pallets within the system, but if a bay of rack has no pallets in it the forklift could actually drive all the way through the depth of the storage system.
